Nesta (ネスタ Nesuta) is a supporting character of Dance With Devils. He was the father of Lindo Tachibana and lover of Marta Tachibana. He was the Vampire King intent on using the Forbidden Grimoire's power to overthrow the Devils.

Appearance

Lord Nesta had long, wavy white hair that faded into red at the end. He had a beard and mustache of the same color, and red eyes. He wore a necklace and what seems to be a long, furred coat.

Personality

Nesta was shown to have a cruel and manipulative personality, being able to seduce Marta Tachibana in order to find out about the grimoire, and gain a pawn in their dhampir son, Lindo. He did not care about the lives of his vampire spawns, as shown when he killed the vampire who accidentally 'wounded' Ritsuka before the ritual.

He was also an unapologetic liar, trying to get Lindo to side with him by preying on Lindo's fatherless childhood and his lack of familial bonds with his biological parents as well as Marta's rejection of her own son. He even said he truly loved Marta when the fact was he did not.

As one of first and ancient progenitors of vampires, Nesta had the ability to hide his true heart. Only the Grimoire's powers were successful in locating his true heart, as the devils and Lindo could not find his true heart during the battle and Lindo himself failed to kill him.

History

In the past, he seduced and deceived Marta Tachibana, developing a fabricated relationship with her, which resulted in Lindo's birth. The revelation of being used and giving birth to a dhamphir severely damaged Marta's psychologically.

In episode 12, it is revealed that he was once a human. He chooses to become a vampire prior to the anime's beginning because as a human, he was unable to face death.

Trivia

• Lord Nesta first appears in the musical introduction of Dance with Devils.
• He bares a strong resemblance to Karlheinz from Diabolik Lovers. Their personalities are almost the same as well as their titles as Vampire King. They both also bear no love for their sons and their mothers. They also see their families as pawns for their selfish plans.
